Alternate Tourist Drive 24 is a branch of the once former Tourist Drive 24. Alternate Tourist Drive 24 however, still exists and is still well maintained as a branch to go out to the mighty Magnetic Island.
You won't need much however, insect repellant and covered shoes are recommended due to the large amounts of venomous snakes and crocodiles in the area.
There are two entries and exits to this route. One through Archer Street and the other through Mcilwrath Street.
Take the ferry to Magnetic Island and walk on some of the trails
Always wear closed footwear. There are venomous snakes and crocodiles, stingrays and box jellyfish around. Never swim in the waters during summer (September-May).
- Go north and explore the Daintree Rainforest
