Banner

The current banner invokes potentially undesirable nationalist sentiments, is there a particular reason why this arc is notable for the city, or can it be substituted with a more neutral banner? ArticCynda (talk) 10:10, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

I think it seems to be somewhat notable—a photo of it is included at the end of the lead, and in the infobox in the Wikipedia article about the city. Still, it's not especially attractive or interesting-looking. If we can find a better banner I would support it. —Granger (talk · contribs) 10:22, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

Keep in mind that this is English Wikivoyage, and the writing on the arc is not written in English, so most people who see the banner on this article will not know what it means. Selfie City (talk) 17:38, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

It says "Central Africa, our country. The national interest first!" Typical chauvinism but not worse than that, as it doesn't debase any other people or suggest attacking or killing anyone. Ikan Kekek (talk) 17:55, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

Since this place is in Central Africa, I don't see that as an issue, especially considering it's in a different language. If a place in the US had a banner saying "Central Africa, our country..." that would of course be different. But the banner image isn't that great anyway, so if a better banner was proposed I would probably support it. Selfie City (talk) 21:27, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
