Shouldn't Gala Yuzawa be placed under Yuzawa? It's the not the only thing in town... see also , . (WT-en) Jpatokal 10:46, 13 Mar 2005 (EST)
- A Yuzawa page would be an excellent addition. From the links you gave, I found Yuzawa's tourist info web site . (WT-en) Kurkoski 19:08, 13 Mar 2005 (EST)
- Done. You sound like you've actually been there, so maybe you can fill in the stub...? (WT-en) Jpatokal 22:02, 13 Mar 2005 (EST)
- I like the reference to Kawabata's novel. Yes, I went skiing there on Sunday. Actually, Kawabata was right on. The Shinkansen goes through a long tunnel, and when you come out, snow is everywhere. The only thing I did in Yuzawa was go to the ski area, it was a one-day trip. (WT-en) Kurkoski 01:40, 14 Mar 2005 (EST)

New banner
[edit]New banners, also considered at Talk:Shizuoka (prefecture). See Talk:Japan#New banners for all banner votes. /Yvwv (talk) 01:16, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- As I want 5 to represent japan I want 3 to be featured here. Tai123.123 (talk) 01:42, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- I agree with Tai123.123: #5 is better than our current Japan banner. Ground Zero (talk) 03:52, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- 3 since 5 would suit better in Japan SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 04:21, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- Comment Can we get any options that aren't the same mountain being proposed in every applicable Japan article? I understand that Mount Fuji is iconic, but there are plenty of interesting places in Chubu (or Japan). It just seems very dull to have the same place in so many articles, particulary in every level of the hierarchy. For Chubu, for example, are there not pictures of Nagano's onsen monkeys, the Takayama Festival, Kurobe Dam, Kamikochi, Narai-juku/Tsumago-juku, the Senmaeda Rice Terraces, Eiheiji Temple, Yume No Tsuribashi Bridge, etc.? - A good point. Will look for more representative Chubu imagery. /Yvwv (talk) 12:25, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- See Talk:Japan's Top 3. The banner should represent one of the three Sankei rather than the Fuji. Also, views from Central Tokyo are overused, and are not required for Kanto or Tokyo (prefecture). Pictures of crowds of similar-looking people are also an over-exploited stereotype. /Yvwv (talk) 14:07, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- @ChubbyWimbus @Yvwv I added a kenroku-en banner from Kanazawa Tai123.123 (talk) 16:10, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- I like the Kenrokuen photo, but I think it would be a much-improved replacement for Kanazawa's current photo. ChubbyWimbus (talk) 11:57, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- Added a banner from Matsumoto which could also be useful in other articles. /Yvwv (talk) 15:29, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- @ChubbyWimbus Could you please vote on the Kanazawa page then. Tai123.123 (talk) 00:07, 13 October 2021 (UTC)
- Many of the banners can be considered for the relevant prefecture and city in Chubu. /Yvwv (talk) 16:22, 13 October 2021 (UTC)

I found one of the Jigokudani Monkey Onsen that seems to be formatted like our banners. ChubbyWimbus (talk) 10:24, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
- Great picture! Here is a properly cropped one. /Yvwv (talk) 11:21, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
