Merger proposal[edit]

Because there is only a little information here, I propose to merge andvrefirsct this article to United States National Trails System. If someone is willing and able to expand the content on this trail later, then it could easily be broken out into a separate article again. Ground Zero (talk) 14:24, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There are a lot of itinerary articles about important routes being nominated for deletion and merging right now. It's a lot to keep up with, and bringing the articles up to usable status takes a lot of work. Can we please slow down the pace of the deletion and merge proposals? —Granger (talk · contribs) 14:33, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
They have been nominated, but no-one is in a hurry to delete or merge. I am working to improve some of the articles nominated for deletion. As long as there is work ongoing, or an indication that work will be done, I don't think anyone is going to implement the proposals. Many of SHB2000's last round of VfDs were improved and kept, with the result of better articles for readers. I don't have any others in mind or merging at this point, but that would change if more stubs are created. Ground Zero (talk) 15:13, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It needs more work, but I'll withdraw the merger proposal as Mx. Granger has started on it. Ground Zero (talk) 16:01, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate it. And thanks for improving the Trail of Tears article. —Granger (talk · contribs) 16:41, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There's 14 days to work on it, and even if its worked on by one person, I usually close it as keep. Much of these itineraries were left in a state of "I'm just going to dump this and let someone else do this" sort of condition. When I nominated about 20 itineraries last month, only about 4 or 5 of them were deleted. If I can work on the itinerary, I'd do it, if I can't then I nominate it for deletion if someone else is more familiar with the itinerary. If then only no one improves it, then its deleted. The one year rule is basically meant to be an incentive for the creator to make it to usable. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 21:59, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
