Provinces and bottom-level regions

[edit]

Valencia (region) should really be divided into three provinces: Castellón (province), Valencia (province), and Alicante (province). Additionally Castellón (province) should contain the bottom-level region Costa del Azahar, and Alicante (province) should contain the bottom-level region of Costa Blanca.

As the region is currently subdivided, Castellón (province) and Valencia (province) redirect to Costa del Azahar, and Alicante (province) redirects to Costa Blanca. This is inaccurate (e.g. towns on the Valencia coast, including Valencia and Sagunto, are not actually on the Costa del Azahar), and articles for inland cities are placed there by default (e.g. Xàtiva, Montanejos, Buñol, and Alcoy).

I'd like to remove the redirects for Castellón (province), Valencia (province), and Alicante (province), but am not sure how to do this. Are there any other opinions on the matter, or objections? –StellarD (talk) 14:07, 12 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Rename

[edit]

The proper name of this region is Valencian Community, and I think the page should be renamed to reflect this, especially to avoid confusion with the province and city. Are there any objections? –StellarD (talk) 10:59, 29 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

As there have been no objections raised to the renaming of this page, I'll wait one more day and then proceed. –StellarD (talk) 09:37, 5 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
Plunge forward. --Traveler100 (talk) 17:40, 5 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
IMO we should always try to use the same names for places as Wikipedia does, so go ahead. ϒpsilon (talk) 17:47, 5 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Which nine cities

[edit]

There are currently 16 cities listed in this article, when there should be a maximum of nine, because this is only a second-tier region, not bottom-level. I would say that:

  • Valencia
  • Alicante
  • Benidorm
  • Castellón

should definitely be there, and suspect that

  • Calp
  • Peñíscola

are also important enough to be listed. Which three (or five, if you don't agree with the immediate above) other city articles should be listed at this level? --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 20:00, 29 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

I've no idea what you were trying to write above, but I have fixed the typo.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 10:00, 13 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
