I moved this page to make the name work with our article naming conventions. -- (WT-en) Evan 11:40, 4 Nov 2003 (PST)
Regions
Here's how I got the regions in the end (the tourism guides give them stupid names from our point of view: I mean Legends, Wine and High Country?)
I used two region maps, one on http://www.visitvictoria.com/ and the other on http://www.australia.com/ At time of writing they were located at:
- http://www.australia.com/places_to_go/explore_by_maps/Victoria/Prod_Map_STD1.aust?L=en&C=AU
So, the regions:
- Lakes (Victoria): called Lakes and Wilderness on both maps
- Yarra Valley: short hand for Yarra Valley and the Dandenongs on both maps, maybe Dandenongs should have its own region.
- Gippsland: this already existed, it's called Gippsland and Phillip Island on the maps.
- Goldfields: called this on both maps, includes Ballarat and Bendigo
- High Country (Victoria): this is probably badly named actually, it's called Wine and High Country or Legends, Wine and High Country. Neither really works as a good name for this site.
- Grampians: Horsham (Victoria) and Hamilton (Victoria)
- Phillip Island: already existed
- Great Ocean Road: already existed, although someone needs to work it up into a region article
- Sunraysia: already existed, this is called Murray Outback on the maps
- Goulburn Valley: part of High Country on one map

- I deleted Lakes (Victoria) from the article as it's part of E Gippsland. (WT-en) Nurg 05:19, 10 March 2006 (EST)
- As Grampians has been merged with Grampians National Park, I have created Wimmera for the wider region. (WT-en) Nurg 23:05, 11 March 2006 (EST)
Sleep Section
I removed the following listing from the article:
- Tartan Motel in Yea, Victoria is a 3 ½-star motel situated along the Goulburn Valley Highway. It offers air conditioned/heated rooms, with direct direct phones and internet connectivity. Located at 7 High St.Yea Victoria, Australia 3717, rates start at AUD 65.
Region articles, like Victoria, don't listing individual hotels/campgrounds/etc. Unfortunately, it appears there is not yet an article for Yea. When one gets created, please move the listing there. -- (WT-en) Fastestdogever 17:33, 5 May 2007 (EDT)
- The question is - will there ever be an article about Yea? Wouldn't someone who wants to spend time in Victoria, rather look in the Victoria article for information than search individual town articles, like Yea? (WT-en) Jamboo 09:04, 22 March 2008 (EDT)
