Hello, and a hearty welcome back! There's some sort of problem preventing us from using special:usermerge right now, but I will take care of the merge once it's possible. For now, I'm shoving the broom back in your hands and have already demoted you back to janitor. You cannot refuse ;) --Peter Talk 04:46, 16 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

OMG, that's a heckuva way to restart things! Not sure I even remember how to sweep! Kudos to you guys who have kept the old place tidy. I was unaware of the big changes until it hit my banner over at WP. --LilHelpa (talk) 11:50, 16 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hey, it's great to have you back! -- Sapphire (talk) 19:49, 16 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hey, Sapphire! I remember you :) --LilHelpa (talk) 19:56, 16 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

UserMerge

[edit]

I have now merged your old account into this one. I put your old user pages at Special:AllPages/User:LilHelpa and your old talk page at User talk:LilHelpa/Archive, for you to link to however you like. Your old user page itself is now a redirect to your new one, but the whole history is still there, if you want to move it back here. --Peter Talk 19:52, 16 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, Peter. Much appreciated! -LilHelpa (talk) 19:56, 16 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Cruising

[edit]

Your user page mentions cruising so I wonder if you'd care to contribute to Cruising on small craft and/or at Wikivoyage:Cruising Expedition. Pashley (talk) 14:09, 16 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

ːThanks for the heads-upǃ --LilHelpa (talk) 16:23, 17 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

How we will see unregistered users

[edit]

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

Admin tools

[edit]

Hi, LilHelpa. I don't mean to cause any offence by writing this message, but this message concerns your admin activity levels on Wikivoyage.

According to Xtools, you were given admin rights on Wikivoyage by Peterfitzgerald as you were an admin before the form on Wikitravel – is that correct? (please correct me if I'm not – I wasn't around during the times of Wikitravel)

However, according to the the public logs, you have not used your admin tools once since 2013. Although Wikivoyage:Administrators does not state anything about admins not using their tools, I question whether you actually have a need to continue having sysop tools when you're not going to use them. Don't get me wrong, I value the contributions that you make to the community in fixing typos; it's important that we ensure that those who hold these positions are actively engaged in using their tools.

I would appreciate it if you could let me know your thoughts on this matter. Do you plan on using your admin tools, or would you be willing to relinquish them if it is determined that they are no longer necessary?

Probably should remove my access. I'm 72 and devote all my small allocted time to WP.
By any chance, could you confirm this by logging in (not that I don't trust you – because I do and have due respect for someone who's extensively fixed hundreds of thousands of typos throughout Wikimedia). Either way, I hope life treats you well in the future! Thanks again for all your time and effort put in to make Wikivoyage a better place, even if that was a decade ago :-). --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 01:57, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Yes, remove my access to those tools. LilHelpa (talk) 03:25, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

I've changed you to an Autopatroller. If you ever decide you'd like to resume being an Admin, just let us know. Stay well! Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:33, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
