  • 12 Haytor Vale Haytor on Wikipedia — near some very striking tors.
  • 13 Lustleigh Lustleigh on Wikipedia
  • 14 Lydford — a village (which was a town) north of Tavistock with a spectacular limestone gorge and a castle that was once used as the stannary prison.
  • 15 Mary Tavy — a pleasant moorland village north of Tavistock that generally gets less crowded than many areas but the walks are as good.
  • 16 Meavy — village green and ancient oak tree.
  • 17 Peter Tavy Peter Tavy on Wikipedia — as Mary Tavy above.
  • 18 Princetown — a village on the high moor that grew next to the prison whose land was gifted by the Prince of Wales.
  • 19 Shaugh Prior Shaugh Prior on Wikipedia — village with granite church and old china clay pits all around.
  • 20 Sheepstor Sheepstor on Wikipedia — the tor is very shapely and immediately above the village, which has the tomb of James Brooke, white rajah of Sarawak.
  • 21 Widecombe in the Moor — though best known for its song, it's worth seeing for its large church (sometimes known as 'the cathedral of the moor.' Good pubs.

This region travel guide to Dartmoor is an outline and may need more content. It has a template, but there is not enough information present. If there are Cities and Other destinations listed, they may not all be at usable status or there may not be a valid regional structure and a "Get in" section describing all of the typical ways to get here.
