I think I still prefer the current, but maybe that's because I'm obsessed with the alpine hiking trails, and I'd like another opinion. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 09:26, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

They are all good. I prefer #3 for image depth. /Yvwv (talk) 13:00, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
They are all good. I prefer #5 (or #4) as it shows forest. However my only experience of hiking in Australia was in Tasmania a long time ago, so I don't know if #0, #2 or #3 is more representative of a typical walk. AlasdairW (talk) 20:42, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've never been to Australia, but I actually prefer all of the alternates to 0. My favorite is definitely 5, followed by 4, 1 (though that's probably an atypical scene in Australia), 2 (but is it big enough?), 3 and 0. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:31, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I just realised that two was too small so I guess that's out. 1 can probably be used when I start a Hiking in the Australian Alps article, or even replace the current banner used on Australian Alps (which is also used on Alpine National Park) SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 02:18, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
0 ended up finding good use on the Overland Track. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 07:06, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hiking trails that Wikivoyage does not have articles for[edit]

@The dog2: I'm using this as a checklist for popular hiking trails across Australia that we don't have articles for. Pinging you since I'm not well-versed with many of South Australia's hiking trails plus rail trails across the country (except in the Sydney + surrounds area).

Interstate

Intrastate

Could you add any that I missed to this list? --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 08:47, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's also worth noting that I forgot to add some small but significant hiking trails as I can't remember any on the top of my head, but please do add any (if they exist). SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 08:51, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't gone that far into the Outback but the Clare Valley has a rail trail called the Riesling Trail. And there's the Coast to Vines Rail Trail that takes you into McLaren Vale. I can't think of anymore at the top of my head now. The dog2 (talk) 15:21, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I realise it is not in Oz, but should the article link to it? Pashley (talk) 22:05, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lol – it was in 'Straya, and many of the hikers who do traverse the Kokoda are 'Strayans, but it definitely isn't in 'Straya anymore. I guess a one-liner in Hiking and bushwalking in Australia#See also makes a lot of sense considering the context. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 09:20, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Added. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 11:00, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
