Page banner[edit]

I've created a banner, but it's not outstanding. I can keep looking if you guys want. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 14:29, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have some photos of Indonesian dishes, if you want to consider to change the banner. Just let me know. ibhi19 (talk) 08:38, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If the photos are on Commons, you could link them here. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:38, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Ikan. I'm going to take some time to sort those photos and add them to Commons. Thanks for the suggestion. ibhi19 (talk) 08:21, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for the banner (or another photo for the page)[edit]

Hello, everyone. I just added a photo of Indonesian food on Commons. It is a Padang/Minang-style food that may be worthy of addition in this page. I don't know if it's good enough for a page banner, but at least this could be a good addition on Indonesian food. Your suggestions are welcomed. Thank you! ibhi19 (talk) 09:48, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Buffet-style Minangnese food
The dimensions look difficult for a pagebanner, though maybe if it's flipped 90 degrees and cut in half? Ikan Kekek (talk) 11:48, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'll see what I can do with that. Otherwise, I'll look further on Commons. Thanks for the suggestion! ibhi19 (talk) 12:08, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sure thing. I've never made a pagebanner, but if you'd like to try your hand at making one, look at Wikivoyage:Banner Expedition#How do I help? and following. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:55, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Babi guling[edit]

It was popular in Bali when I was there in the 70s. Obviously, most Indonesians wouldn't eat it, since they're Muslims, but most Balinese are Hindus. Should the dish be added to the "Main dishes" section? Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:01, 24 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion 2 same photo different crop

More cuisine Banner Discussions, I don't think the new banner is a 10/10 but commons had few high quality images of Indonesian cuisine Tai123.123 (talk) 00:00, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I prefer suggestion 2 and then 1 with the current being a no for me. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 05:03, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@SHB2000, Changed it as a week has passed, if others prefer other banners I will change back. Tai123.123 (talk) 07:20, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for improvement to be guide article[edit]

Any input to become a guide cuisine article? M.akbar.raf (talk) 04:08, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This is a good article overall, and although I've yet to have the pleasure of visiting Indonesia (hopefully I will when travelling by plane becomes fully normalised), I do know quite a bit about Indonesian cuisine (at least, from the Indonesian restaurants that I've been to) and I couldn't see anything major missing. Perhaps, it could point out more locations known for certain foods. @The dog2, Jpatokal, Veracious, Ikan Kekek:, your opinions? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 10:16, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
A certain food huh.. How about a food made of soil? Veracious (talk) 02:49, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This guide covers "basic" Indonesian/Javanese food quite well, but the one thing it could probably use is more coverage of regional cuisines. We don't need to get into details (which should be in the region articles), but brief overviews of Balinese, Sundanese, Minahasa/Mandonese and Papuan cuisine would be nice. Jpatokal (talk) 13:47, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've now kicked off a basic regional section, but it still needs work. In particular, aside from Padang, I'm not really familiar with Sumatran food. Jpatokal (talk) 03:55, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
