Name change?

[edit]

I chose the original title for this article, do not now recall why. I now think it is wrong; there is not one "National Park" but a group of related areas. UNESCO have "The site consists of 15 protected areas (in eight geographic clusters) ..."

Wikipedia has w:Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas and UNESCO uses Three parallel rivers of Yunnan. I suggest a move to either just "Three parallel rivers" or "Three parallel rivers protected areas"; I'd prefer the first since it is simpler.

Support per reason given. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 11:08, 27 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
The shorter name works well. There isn't anywhere else with that name. Ground Zero (talk) 11:13, 27 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yeap, the shorter names are often the way to go. My second choice would be the UNESCO designation, if we think we need to be a little bit more specific. I'm not sure about the use of the capitals in this case, though, "Three parallel rivers" or "Three Parallel Rivers"? Vidimian (talk) 12:07, 27 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
As "Three parallel rivers" is not the formal name, it should be in sentence case. I support that as the article name. There should be redirects from the official names, and they should be mentioned in the lead, but they are cumbersome as page name. –LPfi (talk) 16:26, 29 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes Moved. I'll edit the lede next. Pashley (talk) 13:51, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
There are a lot of links to this, most of which should be revised to point directly to the new name. I've done some, but nowhere near all. Volunteers? Pashley (talk) 15:51, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
I think I took down the rest, excluding those in comments, archive pages, and the user namespace. Vidimian (talk) 17:12, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
