New banner[edit]

Suggestion 0. Current banner.
Suggestion 1: Matsushima.
Suggestion 2: Matsushima.
Suggestion 3: Used for Aomori (prefecture).
Suggestion 4: Aomori.
Suggestion 5: Mt Iwaki.
Suggestion 6: Kokeshi doll at Kurioshi City.

  • 3 seems like the winner to me, but then we'd have to find another banner for Aomori Prefecture. I'd go for 4 next, then perhaps 2. Are you saying the existing banner is unlikely to be fair use? Ikan Kekek (talk) 17:34, 12 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Two personal opinions here. First, banners should avoid any concerns about copyright, trademarks, touting and personality rights. Second, the banner should represent Tohoku's famous natural sceneries. Other users might think differently. /Yvwv (talk) 17:39, 12 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I like the original as I associate Tohoku with festivals and also think it's the most exiting, I understand it has to be changed if it violtes copyright Tai123.123 (talk) 00:03, 13 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I like the current banner the best, but we obviously can't have copyright violations. Number 3 is already used in Aomori (prefecture), so it might as well stay there. I don't personally think that nature is Tohoku's best offering. Maybe some of these:

I kind of like some of the kokeshi pictures. It's a clear representation of the entire region and such a banner is less likely to end up suggested or used on other articles. ChubbyWimbus (talk) 10:14, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
