User:SHB2000, would you like other people to try any copy edits, or would you prefer for us to wait? Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:05, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Ikan Kekek Please feel free to do some copyediting. It would be greatly appreciated. I don't mind anyone editing in my userspace. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 10:10, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- OK, cool. Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:14, 17 December 2021 (UTC)

[edit]- Swept in from the pub
Title. Feel free to edit the page. I don't mind anyone editing my userpage. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 10:19, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- I'd suggest keeping it in userspace for now. I'm not sure we need another policy about this. Most of the key points are already covered by pages like ttcf and Wikivoyage:Goals and non-goals, and I'm wary of unnecessary proliferation of policy pages. If there are essential non-obvious points missing from Wikivoyage:Goals and non-goals, maybe we can add a bullet point or two there. —Granger (talk · contribs) 13:05, 18 December 2021 (UTC)
- It also overlaps a little with Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. The welcome page has a more complete description of differences between Wikipedia and Wikivoyage (e.g., no references, lively writing style, fewer links, fewer templates...). WhatamIdoing (talk) 19:57, 18 December 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, I suppose that merging some of this content with Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians would make most sense. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:34, 18 December 2021 (UTC)
- But I don't think the districts section should go there though. Plus, it was never intended for Wikipedians. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 02:01, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
- This is kind of in the spirit of Wikipedia:Essays, I.e., a useful commentary on policy, rather than a policy. I don't think we've ever brought over the concept of essays though. Maybe it is time to do that so that Wikivoyage would have a place for something like this. Ground Zero (talk) 02:18, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
- Maybe we should use this one as a trial. I know meta does these things too. The only kinds of essays I'd be opposed to are the ones like w:Wikipedia:Assume bad faith, which is nothing more than a humorous joke. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 02:57, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
- Your districts paragraph is redundant to Wikivoyage:Geographical hierarchy, the last bullet point in Wikivoyage:The traveller comes first, and already mentioned in Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians#Style differences. WhatamIdoing (talk) 17:30, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
