Are edit buttons broken for listings?
Hello,
On any article when I click the "edit" button next to a listing I see the info for a different listing pop up. For example on Sofia if I click "edit" next to "Arena Cinema" then it shows me the popup to edit the "Sofia Central Bus Station".
How can I fix this? I'm seeing the same behavior on FF and chrome. Only noticed it this week.

- Works correctly for me, with Firefox on Linux. Pashley (talk) 14:20, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
- Works correctly for me as well, Firefox on Windows. Mrkstvns (talk) 15:34, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
- @RayScript, Andyrom75: And for me (FF on Linux). Could it be that the caches are out of sync? I don't know how the listing editor identifies the right listing, but if it counts them and the page where you click "edit" isn't identical to the one the listing editor gets, that could cause the confusion. I assume you always get the last version when editing, while you might get an older one when reading, at least if you aren't logged in. You could try refreshing the page next time it happens, or just save without changing anything and then try again. –LPfi (talk) 18:58, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Pashley@Mrkstvns@LPfi thanks for the help figuring this out. Turns out it was caused by enabling the beta feature "New wikitext mode". I guess it is beta for a reason huh. I'll keep it off for now and hopefully it will be fixed one day! RayScript (talk) 20:13, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
- The editor works on the client side page, hence the cache won't affect its behavior. I suppose that "New wikitext mode" change the layout and if confirmed, this will require an adjustment on the listing editor as well. Andyrom75 (talk) 08:33, 7 April 2023 (UTC)
- I've had the "New wikitext mode" enabled for years, and I don't have this problem (in Firefox on macOS). WhatamIdoing (talk) 00:46, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
- Also works correctly for me, Chrome on Mac. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 21:44, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
