Remove one-liner "guides"[edit]

I would suggest to void and redirect Kelsterbach, Langen and Mörfelden to this article. While they are all municipalities in their own right with sizeable populations, their "guides" were ostensibly created to place entries for hotels and restaurants around Frankfurt Airport somewhere, which would much better be done in the airport article itself.

Given the fact that there are more municipalities and towns in the Rhein-Mein area that we do not cover yet and just as well could (Raunheim, Nauheim and Bischofsheim in northern GG around Ruesslsheim alone), if we decided to create "placeholder" guides for all of them in the mold of the abovementioned, we would need to create new subdivisions already. I find this unnecessary at present and I would much rather we focused on improving the nine remaining guides with some content.

Should an enthusiastic Wikivoyager later want to create a guide to any of those, nothing will prevent them from doing so and the redirecting of the current articles will not change much as, effectively, we do not have guides for those. Moreover, this discussion will explain the Wikivoyagers interested why the article titles are redirects. PrinceGloria (talk) 21:46, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, as by now my dislike for articles on hamlets for the sake of articles on hamlets must be well known. Having their hotel listings moved to the airport article should be self-evident, though Hobbitschuster (talk) 22:13, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The hotels in Langen, Mörfeldend and Kelsterbach were originality in the Frankfurt airport article be were removed because it breaks the guidelines for airport articles. We need another solution for this situation. Although they are not tourist destinations they are destinations for other travellers, particularly business travellers and I would not describe the towns as hamlets. --Traveler100 (talk) 04:22, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well this is surely a case of guidelines causing a, perhaps unintended, adverse effect. Can you point out the said guideline to put it up for discussion? PrinceGloria (talk) 04:46, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Just search for the work hotel on the project talk page. Here is an example Wikivoyage talk:Airport Expedition#Airport hotels, O'Hare, and policy. Also at Talk:Frankfurt Airport the topic was discussed. Wikivoyage:Airport article template also states: Hotel options on the airport property, and an overview of nearby neighborhoods offering hotel accommodation. As you can see I did not totally agree with this but eventually I give up such discussions as tends to just distract from getting content work done. --Traveler100 (talk) 05:48, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I actually think we never really resolved that discussion. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:30, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Where is it? Or should we restart at the Airports Expedition? PrinceGloria (talk) 06:46, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's at Wikivoyage talk:Airport Expedition#Airport hotels, O'Hare, and policy. It looked like the direction we were going toward was to find a way to list hotels "in the immediate vicinity" of airports in airport guides, but there were several unresolved issues, including questions of distance and (non-)duplication of listings.
