[edit]Shouldn't this be a country article?

Country article

Spelling conventions
[edit]Since this was missing until now, using British or Canadian spelling? I would go with Canadian spelling due to the close proximity to Canada than Britain. @Ground Zero:, agree? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 04:15, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- I don't think we are going to find a satisfactory answer unless someone goes there. The only source I can find in English is the islands' tourism website, which uses US spelling predominantly, although not exclusively. This could reflect the style of their webmaster, or the use of Google Translate. Officially, SP&M, as a French territory, would follow the French and EU style of using UK spelling. - Yeah, okay. I just thought it may be better off using en-CA since 1) proximity to Canada leading them to be written in en-CA 2) We don't always use what France uses for overseas territories (such as French Polynesia). SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 13:18, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- Similar situation to New Caledonia I guess (their tourism website by default is Australian english but can be changed into "international english", Italian or Japanese. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 13:20, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
