Warning about carrying drugs through the airport[edit]

I think there should be a warning that even carrying drugs while transiting this airport will subject a person to the death penalty. Where should the warning go? A "Stay Safe" section at the end of the article? Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:54, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In the Singapore article it's mentioned already in the Get In section in the beginning of the article. So I'd put it in a red box in the "Understand" section. Ypsilon (talk) 20:11, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Stick it in this article. This is a separate article now and folks will not necessarily reach it via the Singapore page! The last thing we need in Singapore is too many executed ignorant criminals. -- Alice 01:09, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
Yes, that's what I and Ikan intended to do. The question is where in the article. I just tried to put the warning box (with the text from Singapore's Get in section) it right up in the Understand section, but it made the article look quite hysterical. So I made a separate "Stay safe" section at the end and placed it there. Ypsilon (talk) 04:36, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think that looks much better. It looked pretty alarmist, even though it definitely should be mentioned. Nearly 50 million passengers pass through Changi Airport every year and the number of arrested drug abusers, let alone traffickers, number less than 5,000. I hadn't kept up with news till now, but apparently they have "relaxed" the rules, and it's been reduced to life imprisonment if they're just couriers and assist the authorities. -- Torty3 (talk) 04:43, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that's the best place for it.
The language of aviation is typically the US variety of English, but why do we have to use the more prolix "Ground transportation" rather than "Ground transport" in an article with a strong geographic connection to Singapore ? -- Alice 05:40, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
Well done, everyone! I think this is the right amount of attention to give, and the right place for the warning. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:15, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Terminal 4[edit]

This news article [1] mentions a visit by Prime Minister and pending public open house in August. It also lists several airlines the terminal will support. Does anyone know enough about it to develop a description and how it will be used? Appreciate the effort. Hennejohn (talk) 22:46, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A follow-on article appears at [2]. Apparently this Terminal 4 will open before year-end. Hope someone is looking into details for this WV article. Regards, Hennejohn (talk) 00:16, 4 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Good work on Terminal 4. Used it late last year...spacious, comfortable and efficient...the terminal, not me . Hennejohn (talk) 22:07, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Page banner[edit]

Changi airport has this amazing aircraft bridge, which would make for a stunning banner picture. Unfortunately there is no nice picture with the right license online so far. If somebody's there - how about taking a picture similar to this one? Maybe a little further away to get everything into the 7:1 aspect ration. Thanks!--Renek78 (talk) 16:32, 14 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

What's needed to get this article to guide?[edit]

I'll try making this a guide in the upcoming few days if I can. I can't see anything missing for this to be a guide, but I'd prefer to check first. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 10:29, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I was about to ask the same question, this looks pretty up-to-date and complete to me. The one gap is that Jewel could use more coverage, currently there's zero restaurants/bars in it listed. Jpatokal (talk) 09:05, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The last time I was back in Singapore, there was a very good ice cream shop in Jewel called Birds of Paradise. That would certainly merit a listing. The dog2 (talk) 15:40, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
