Hello, CupcakePerson13! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals.

The restaurants you're adding to the Ranges article should be moved to the Belgrave article. I've already done so for the ice-cream parlour, and would be grateful if you'd do the same for the Indian. Thanks a lot, ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 07:25, 1 June 2020 (UTC)

Using talk pages[edit]

Hi, Freyr. Everything in the travel guide (destination articles, itineraries, travel topics, phrasebooks etc) can be edited at will. You can chop and change other people's contributions, add to them, or remove them altogether, as long as you do so in line with policy and in the traveller's best interests. That is a normal and essential aspect of building a wiki.

However, comments made by any other user on any talk page (be it a user talk page, the discussion page for an article or policy, and community pages like the Travellers' Pub) must be left alone. You can rewrite and edit your own comments, but not other people's. It's a matter of etiquette and respect for others. Equally, there should never be a time when another editor changes or deletes one of your talk page posts; if they do, you have the right to change it back. Does that make sense? I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.

On another note, well done for your work expanding Belgrave. That article's in a much better shape than it was just two days ago. Best wishes, ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 08:58, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Yes I understand. Thanks for explaining!Freyr Brown (talk) 14:29, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
Okie dokie! --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 14:48, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Please use 12-hour clock in Australia articles.[edit]

See the formatting box at the top of Talk:Australia. Thank you. Ground Zero (talk) 10:35, 14 June 2020 (UTC)

Sorry, I read the message in Belgrave's Talk page wrong. CupcakePerson13 (talk) 10:37, 14 June 2020 (UTC)

Le savais-tu ? Wikivoyage, c'est aussi en français ![edit]

Hi, I see from your profile that you speak French. No pressure at all, as your contributions on en.wikivoyage are very much appreciated and we'll never ask you to contribute more than you're comfortable doing, but if you ever feel like joining us over on the French Wikivoyage, you'd be very welcome. The number of active editors is quite low, with much less geographical spread than here, so any help you could offer would be wonderful.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 13:32, 14 June 2020 (UTC)

Melbourne/Eastern suburbs[edit]

I've noticed that Box Hill is technically within the Eastern suburbs, which would make it a city district article rather than a city article. However, having an article for this district of the suburbs and not others — the current situation — causes me to ask out of curiosity: do you plan to create articles for other districts of the eastern suburbs as well? --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 22:38, 15 June 2020 (UTC)

I didn't realise there was a separate template for city districts, but I would like to make articles for the other Eastern suburbs. Ringwood is also in the Eastern suburbs, so I guess that's a start to having the other suburbs on here also. CupcakePerson13 (talk) 12:36, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
