What's the question? The subject heading sounds historical, not related to travel now, so we may not be able to help you on Wikivoyage. Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:23, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Utrecht to Boulogne sur mer

On Tuesday 10 May I want to travel from Utrecht (The Netherlands) to Boulogne sur mer (France) by train. But I do not want to leave before 1000 hours. After 1000 hours is OK. Is this possible? Asked by: 93.14.238.44 08:48, 6 April 2016 (UTC) Helmuth Heisler (helmuthheisler@gmx.com)[reply]

Yes, this is possible. You can search for connections here and it seems that there's a connection at 11:02 and even some connections after 15:00. —The preceding comment was added by Drat70 (talkcontribs)

Larchmont, NY

Does Larchmont, NY have a sister city? I did not see any reference to one on the page for Larchmont, NY but I'm not ready to give up. Any help is appreciated! :) Asked by: 100.2.69.183 01:15, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The only town twinning I can find is New Rochelle NY to La Rochelle, France which has a corresponding event in the area on Bastille Day: http://patch.com/new-york/larchmont/larchmont-gears-up-for-bastille-day-block-party
There's nothing relevant on the Larchmont village site at http://villageoflarchmont.org/site-map/ although there is a "contact us" page where you could ask the town hall directly? K7L (talk) 02:02, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Visit to Korea

I am a former Air Force veteran who was stationed at Kimpo AB, Korea from Dec '60 to Jan '62. I am cruising to Korea and want to visit the AB while there. I want to obtain a visitor's pass for my wife and me. We will probably travel by taxi from the cruise port at Incheon. Any help you can offer will be appreciated. Thank you. I moved your question to make it more visible and gave it a headline which I hope is appropriate. I hope that's ok. Hobbitschuster (talk) 16:17, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Gimpo is nowadays Seoul's second passenger airport and it seems to be entirely civilian nowadays, so much of the airport is probably possible to access or at least see from a distance without any special permits. Unfortunately the airport's home page isn't very helpful and doesn't really have any contact information. The United States Forces Korea have a form on their home page that can be used to contact them, perhaps they have more information. ϒpsilon (talk) 16:35, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Palm trees and Las Vegas/Nevada

Are palm trees native to Las Vegas? Or are they imported? Thanks! Asked by: 213.106.130.210 20:20, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

http://lasvegassun.com/news/1998/may/26/history-of-desert-fan-palm-hard-to-determine/ suggests that one species may be native to the Moapa Valley, which is in Clark County NV about 100km NE of Las Vegas, but is somewhat noncommittal compared to http://www.xeri.com/Moapa/wf-hr-foreword.htm K7L (talk) 23:44, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Swedish Lapland

I and my father are planning to go to Swedish Lapland for a week in late August to early September. We'll be bringing our own car. The intent is to spend the week on hiking trips, about 5 to 10 km per day, and do some light fishing at rivers and lakes (with lures). We would need some sort of camping resort as our base to spend the nights in. The idea is to leave camp in our car in late morning, drive to a path leading to a river or lake shore, hike all the way there, fish for a few hours and then come back to camp in late evening to early night. Can anyone suggest where we should go? Preferably close to the border to Finland, and further north than Umeå or Luleå. Asked by: JIP (talk) 19:15, 12 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

How about somewhere along Tornio River/Torne älv/Tornionjoki on the Swedish side. For example there's a settlement called Peräjävaara some 20 km upstream from central Pajala, that has a camping site (they have cabins too). Given that they advertise great chances for fishing and even have a yearly fishing competition there, I assume the rivers and lakes in the region have fairly much fish. Here is some general information about recreational fishing in Sweden. ϒpsilon (talk) 20:07, 12 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, that looks like a good idea. Pajala is quite close to the Finnish border, but we can always make day trips further west if we want. I have to discuss this with my father, he's the one with the most experience in Lapland trips and he's the one who's driving. Four years ago, we went to Tärnaby, near the border to Norway, and fished for a few days in the lakes in the mountainous territory. Then we went for a sightseeing tour in Norway. Compared to Finland and Sweden, fishing permits in Norway are expensive, so we only fished in Sweden. The following past three years we have been in Finnish Lapland, but we thought we've seen enough of it for a while, perhaps we should go elsewhere. It looks like it's possible to go by train to Kolari and then just drive across the border to Pajala. It's not possible to go by train directly to Sweden as the two countries use different rail gauges. JIP (talk) 19:45, 13 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

North Korea

The question is how to see attractions in North Korea.

Asked by: 202.57.35.99 10:00, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There's basically no way to visit North Korea as a tourist, except as part of a very carefully stage-managed government tour under strict supervision. These tours usually run from commie mainland China as relations between North and South Korea are poor at the moment due to the nuclear testing and the closure of the factory park. Shopping questions

Hi, as this a 'shopping' advice question, I felt it belongs here rather than on the Misc desk at Wikipedia.

I'm planning a trip into London, England around July, but am looking for some specialist items, namely paper models.

Does anyone here have any ideas on where to start looking?

Asked by: Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:50, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

First thing that comes to mind would be one of the large toy shops like Hamleys. More specialist start at Bookends and Pollocks, once you are there ask one of the staff if they know of other specialist places. --Traveler100 (talk) 17:09, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with the suggestions above, but would also suggest trying bookshops, and the shops in any museums or historic sites that you visit. For example I saw this one in the online British Museum shop. If you are not too fussy about what the model depicts, it is worth looking in discount book chains like The Works.
Is there anything in particular that you are looking to get a model of? AlasdairW (talk) 22:30, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm looking for models of buildings especially architectural landmarks. There's also possibly a firm in West Norwood that does 'hobby' stuff, but it's a bit of trek 'south of the river.' ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 00:57, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
