User talk:Kingaustin07
Hello, Kingaustin07! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you want some practice editing, please do so on our graffiti wall. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals.
Also, Thank you for your contributions to Nsukka. Finally, one more thing I'm asking you to do. In your edit summaries, instead of writing "content added", can you write something else like "Added See Listing" or you could do anything really, but as long as it's somewhat useful. After all, edit summaries are for others to quickly identify what you have added, so it saves time from going and individually checking the edit. Capitalisation and spacing
[edit]Hello, and thanks very much for your work on the Yenagoa guide! If you could, though, please take a little more care with your capitalisation and spacing. Look at this sentence:
"Sunky supermarket is one of the big supermarket/shopping mall in yenagoa that offers amazing services and product like in store shopping and Delivery."
Why are you capitalising "delivery"? Why are you not capitalising "Yenagoa"? And if "Sunky Supermarket" is the full name, both words should be capitalised. Now look at another example:
"The food shop is a very big shopping mall.they offer services like in store shopping and Delivery."
Why do you not put a space after the period and use a capital letter for "They"?
If you're in too much of a rush to edit these kinds of things, OK, but if you don't come back and edit it later, someone else will end up doing it, or the article will not look nearly as good as it could. The experience of the reader is an important thing to consider, if you can afford the time to be a bit more careful with these kinds of things.
Thanks again, and let me know if you have any questions.
All the best,
Mobile phone provider listings
[edit]Hi, Kingaustin07, and thanks for taking your time to improve this site's coverage of Nigeria!
However, on the topic of mobile phone provider listings, there's no sense in having the same listings in every destination guide in Nigeria. Please participate in the discussion at Talk:Nigeria#Mobile phone provider listings, so we can have listings in the "Connect" section of that article. In "Connect" sections of city articles, please just mention which providers have connectivity locally and which company's signals are better, and use prose, not listings.
Finally, please pay attention to edit summaries when someone reverts or edits your work. Edit warring wastes everyone's time. If you disagree with a deletion or edit of your work, start a thread on the relevant talk page with an argument for why he text should be restored and see if you can attain a consensus, but don't just restore the deleted text. Thanks, and please reply below, so that I know you're reading the messages on this page. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:18, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hey @Kingaustin07:, I've deleted the mobile phone listings you added to Ikeja. They are listed at Nigeria#Connect. Please read Talk:Nigeria#Mobile_phone_provider_listings and don't add these listings to any other articles. Thanks. Ground Zero (talk) 13:07, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

The opening of the Nigeria café
[edit]Dear Kingaustin07, we are exited to open our new Nigeria Café, open to all. It is a place for the users of the Wikivoyage:Nigeria Expedition users to collaborate, ask for help, make announcements, make initiatives and most importantly celebrate article related celebrations. It is also a place for you to ask general questions, and an experienced user or an admin will be sure to answer the question and possibly teach more on how Wikivoyage works.
This is also meant to be on top of the Wikivoyage:Nigeria Expedition, which is also meant to help us improve our Nigerian destinations. If you haven't already joined, feel free to join, and it is never too late.
So be sure to check out Wikivoyage:Nigeria café
Thanks! SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 11:11, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
New articles
[edit]All of the new articles you are creating have some kind of single-sentence lede with an encyclopedic tone and then the following two sentences: "bus is the easiest means of transportation to [name of town] from anywhere in Kano. There are other means of transportation like bicycle, tricycle, motorcycle." I hope you don't intend to leave the articles that way, because none of that is of any use to potential visitors, so we'll have to delete them en masse very quickly. My suggestion is, if you don't know why a town would be interesting to a visitor, don't start an article about it. Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:51, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hello,
- this article will be updated by me.. thank you for reaching out Kingaustin07 (talk) 03:52, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- OK. Please make sure to provide useful information. What, for example, is the bus fare in each of these towns? Is exact change required? Do buses accept payment by credit card or ApplePay? Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:15, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- To save the articles you need to start working on them. If you intend to do so, please comment at the linked Votes for deletion – as of now the grace period you got is running out. –LPfi (talk) 12:31, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
