@James Moore200: thanks for your interest in Wikivoyage. We usually don't create articles for individual attractions. Please see at "What does not get its own article?" in Wikivoyage:What is an article?. This attraction is in fact already mentioned at Lagos#Do, so you could help out by checking your make sure that the listing in that article is up-to-date. Is there one picture that you think we should add to the Lagos article to illustrate the Lekki Centre? Ground Zero (talk) 18:52, 2 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

I've formatted it as an itinerary for now, if he wants to develop it into article. Typically, however, these types of articles are included as listings within respective destination articles. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 20:36, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@James Moore200, SelfieCity, DaGizza, Ikan Kekek: I really think that this article is not consistent with Wikivoyage style. We just don't have articles for ordinary individual attractions like this one. Does anyone object to me copying the picture into Lagos#Do and deleting the article? Ground Zero (talk) 01:38, 7 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Based on the Wikipedia article it looks like it could be a park article. 193 acres is reasonably big but it depends if there is nearby accommodation specific to the national park and traveller could potentially spend more than 24 hours in the conversation centre. James would be best placed to know if enough useful information can be added to make this a standalone article or not. Otherwise just redirect it to Lagos or a district. I would go ahead and redirect and merge at this point. We could do with a Lekki article.--Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 10:40, 7 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
193 acres isn't big. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 09:55, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@SHB2000, James Moore200, SelfieCity, DaGizza, Ikan Kekek:

The Lekki Conservation Centre is one of Africa’s prominent and most-diverse urban Nature Parks due to its high species richness. It is located in the coastal environs covering an approximate land area of 78 hectares, extending from kilometer 19 along the Lagos-Epe Expressway and ends up a very close distance to the Atlantic Ocean near Okun Ibeju Village, Eti-Osa Local Government Area in the Eastern district of Lagos State. Thanks for the feedbacks. I have been able to develop the article in my own words. LCC is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Lagos and Nigeria at large. I will not advice it should be merged or deleted. It can be developed going forward.

Kind regards,

James Moore200 (talk) 09:41, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hey James, while it may be one of the most visited tourist attractions in Lagos, we don't have articles for each and individual attraction, unless it's a really really world famous one (can't think of any on the top of my head). Have you read wiaa? Cheers, SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 09:54, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Dear SHB2000 ,

Lekki Conservation Centre is one of the World famous tourist attractions in Nigeria.

Thanks for your understanding.

Regards,

James Moore200 (talk) 12:25, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@James Moore200: But that still means it does not get its own article. Even the Taj Mahal doesn't get its own article, and that is one of the seven wonders of the earth. There was even a deletion discussion two months back about Category:Attractions, and the reason it was, is because individual attractions do not get its own article. As there is now more information in the article, and considering the comments of user:James Moore200 and user:Timmylegend, I now think that we should keep this article and link to it from Lagos, rather than trying to incorporate all of this information into that article. Agreed. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 20:40, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Eat and Drink

[edit]

@Ground Zero, Amycutie, James Moore200: we do not usually have eat and drink headings in itineraries. Have you looked at the Wikivoyage:Itinerary article template? For some inspiration, have a look at Tourist Drive 33 or the Loneliest Road in America for some inspiration on how itineraries are meant to be formatted. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 01:17, 25 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@SHB2000, Amycutie, James Moore200: I'm not sure why it is an itinerary. Would it make more sense for this to be a park? We do allow Eat, Drink and Sleep listings in parks. Ground Zero (talk) 14:18, 26 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Ground Zero, Amycutie, James Moore200: - I'm changing it to a park, but you can revert me if you don't want it to be a park, or if it aye an itinerary. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 05:17, 27 June 2021 (UTC)=Reply

Probably not own work. Used as lead image, but should be removed as it is too low quality and too meagrely described. –LPfi (talk) 10:36, 3 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
I have replaced it with the apparently identical File:LEKKI CONSERVATION CENTRE LAGOS, NIGERIA (LCC) 12.jpg. Did somebody not understand how to use an image on commons? AlasdairW (talk) 19:05, 3 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! The same image, but at greater resolution, probably the original. The uploader of that image has uploaded a few dozen other images from the centre. We might want to check whether there are some other images we want to use. –LPfi (talk) 19:27, 3 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
