Per Template talk:Itinerary, this template is no longer necessary. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 19:34, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, you are. Read the talk page linked by SelfieCity.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 15:57, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I read it before posting the above, but it does not give any reason that makes sense to me. Pashley (talk) 16:58, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There is no template to create a new itinerary, instructions for that are at Wikivoyage:Itinerary article template. This was just a template that created a little text on the page and added the article to a category. This is now done with {{PartOfItinerary}}. --Traveler100 (talk) 17:58, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Delete the new template instead? A breadcrumb that links to a longer itinerary or to a geographic region makes sense, but IsPartOf works for those cases & I see no need for Template:PartOfItinerary. See also Talk:Travel_topics_index#Stop_the_breadcrumbs?. Pashley (talk) 17:08, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Where is the latest real discussion (I remember having followed at least part of it)? The one linked is just noting a decision. Template:PartOfItinerary/doc refers to Wikivoyage:Breadcrumb navigation, which says
"Breadcrumb navigation should be used for all destination articles. It should not be used for itinerary articles, even if they are located within a geographical area."
It seems the new template is not yet supported by our guidelines.

Talk:Itineraries#Long lists --Traveler100 (talk) 05:34, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
All itinerary pages have the new template. Generally when any delete takes place, including articles of places, the red links are kept on talk pages so context is clear. --Traveler100 (talk) 05:34, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Btw, the ping still didn't work - don't know why. I only clicked because of your edit summary ("fix ping").--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 14:05, 29 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I think the ping doesn't work if you try it the second time. I tried to fix the problem by re-adding the four tildes, but obviously, that didn't work. Thanks for telling me. I will archive this as delete, probably, in the near future, though thngs seem to be quite split here. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 17:31, 29 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Once again, I simply haven't had the time lately. I'll get to this when I can, if it hasn't been deleted and archived already by that point. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 19:38, 5 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
