Need to sort this out --Traveler100 (talk) 12:37, 20 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Traveler100: Sorry for being late to the party. Both Northern Portugal and Central Portugal are a bit of a mess, using both NUTS regions and former provinces, which do not fit cleanly into each other. As for Tâmega e Sousa, we can keep it if we decide to use NUTS throughout. If we want to keep former provinces, then it should be deleted and the municipalities left in Douro Litoral or Minho. --Nelson Ricardo (talk) 22:23, 27 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Traveler100 has been inactive since January and no one else has expressed an opinion on this matter. I've gone ahead and changed the breadcrumbs for Amarante and Baião to Douro Litoral and will propose Tâmega e Sousa for deletion. Nelson Ricardo (talk) 12:34, 26 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Map shapes

[edit]

I have added {{mapshape}}s for each of the subregions, using Portuguese Wikipedia for guidance (w:pt:Douro Litoral, w:pt:Minho (província), w:pt:Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro). There are several municipalities in the south of the current Norte region that do not belong to the traditional provinces we're using for subdivision. I don't think any of these have articles, but the blank spaces on the map are concerning. On Central Portugal, I created a new sub-region (of my own devising), but I haven't done that here. --Nelson Ricardo (talk) 22:12, 27 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

I'm curious: what does adding mapshapes do? I don't see a difference between versions. Ground Zero (talk) 23:04, 27 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Please see , which doesn't show where the regions are located. The current version color-codes them. --Nelson Ricardo (talk) 23:07, 27 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

VFD nomination for Tâmega e Sousa

[edit]

This region was created apparently with no consensus. It overlaps existing regions Douro Litoral and Minho. Portugal region discussions have elicited little or no conversation: Talk:Northern Portugal#Regions, Talk:Portugal#Regions_2021. I have taken the initiative of updating the breadcrumbs of the two cities that were added the "region" to fall under Douro Litoral instead, and I believe that the Tâmega e Sousa region page and its associated category (now empty) should be deleted.
