Expand?

[edit]

If yes, how? Hobbitschuster (talk) 18:05, 26 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Advantages vs. drawbacks. Perhaps some travel basics-style description of some tour types. ϒpsilon (talk) 18:12, 26 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Guiding on ordinary transport

[edit]

Hobbitschuster asked: "Are there really lines run by the local public transit department that have the same information played on an endless loop? That sounds exhausting to commuters..."

The "tour" I was thinking of was a tram line in Helsinki. I only read about it, so I am not sure how it was implemented, but I suppose it was timed to certain stops and played in season at the time ferry passengers arrived. A similar system could be used in Turku on the bus line from the harbour, where few commuters would use that line, at least at the times when they know the buses are stuffed with tourists with bulky luggage. --LPfi (talk) 12:22, 14 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Alternative banner for this article?

Suggested new alternative banner

I have previously created an alternative banner for this article (which was initially created for the parallel article at the Hebrew Wikivoyage, but I decided to suggest we'll use it here at the English Wikivoyage article as well). Which banner do you prefer that we'll use on the top of this article? ויקיג'אנקי (talk) 13:31, 13 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Food tours

[edit]

I recently added a section about food tours, and it's really basic, so I was wondering how everyone thinks we can expand it. Some of them are centred around food only, while some also include some sightseeing while also brining you to sample some of the local food stalls. I remember joining one of those tours out of Bangkok for a day trip to Ayutthaya, and it was the latter type; we were brought to see some of the more important temples, but the tour also brought us to the local market to try some of what the locals eat, and also to a local shop to try some boat noodles, and overall, I enjoyed that tour.
