Here's a banner for Yaowarat and Phahurat. There are a lot more, but I like this one particularly because it contains a mix of Chinese and Thai streetscapes (idk if it's just me, but this does remind me of what the place was like when I was there 4 years ago). --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 05:15, 11 December 2022 (UTC) [reply]

Less than a month to go and we have no banner. /Yvwv (talk) 23:46, 22 December 2022 (UTC) [reply]

Support Although I remain skeptical of featuring this article next month, the banner LGTM. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 23:49, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Scheduled within a month and we have yet to find a banner. /Yvwv (talk) 12:50, 21 December 2022 (UTC) [reply]

In four months time. I think my favourite is 1 for its image quality. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 23:59, 1 November 2022 (UTC) [reply]

I was unfortunate to be there on one of the 182 days a year that it rains. #2 works. Ground Zero (talk) 04:24, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Banner for Jimbaran, next OtBP. Ypsilon (talk) 17:08, 12 January 2023 (UTC) [reply]

Coming up in December 2022, there are not many high quality images in Commons. I will try to get some pictures myself if I get the chance.2006nishan178713t@lk 11:33, 1 May 2022 (UTC) [reply]

Yes, 1 is good. 2006nishan178713t@lk 13:04, 1 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Time for some banners for BC's feature in a little over a month. I deliberately avoided picking images of Vancouver as it's not representative of the whole province, though the second one is a little bit of an exception. I've only been to the province once, so any other possible good photo spots that would work as a banner? --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 03:29, 24 January 2023 (UTC) [reply]

Good catch. I'd prefer a more comprehensive change but "Canada's Pacific coast has spectacular sceneries for outdoor life at both summer and winter, as well as the urban attractions of Vancouver" could be changed to something like "Canada's Pacific Coast offers spectacular scenery and outdoor life throughout the year, while Vancouver is popular with nature lovers and city-seekers alike." --Comment by Selfie City (talk) (contributions) 23:14, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How about "This province, which extends from Canada's Pacific Coast to snow-capped mountains, offers spectacular scenery and great outdoor activities plus the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver"? Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:36, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think I like your version more as it puts less emphasis on Vancouver. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 00:00, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Didn't really go into depth in trying to look for one, but since there's less than a month before Guanajuato is featured, here's one. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 08:26, 24 February 2023 (UTC) [reply]

Three months early, but here are some banners.

Just 2.5 months till April 11. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 06:11, 27 January 2023 (UTC) [reply]

Currently on hold, due to concerns about making a banner, so here are two to fix that. To avoid potential FoP issues with most of the subjects of the tour, I have chosen images of a functional structure mentioned in the article, the BP Bridge, rather than a work of art. AlasdairW (talk) 22:47, 15 May 2022 (UTC) [reply]

+1 for banner 1. Thanks for making these :-) --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 06:19, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Banner 1 is superior. Would be great to finally see this article ready to feature. /Yvwv (talk) 13:32, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I far prefer banner 1 to banner 2, but both are good images. Thank you for taking this approach in the creation of DOTM banners. --Comment by Selfie City (talk) (contributions) 13:22, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Coming up in less than a month's time. Will upload which ever banner has the most number of !votes on Apr 21. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 03:46, 7 April 2023 (UTC) [reply]

If anything, my favourite is 2 of Pilies Street, followed by 1 of the Old Town, then distantly followed by 3 of the Town Hall during winter (as this is being featured during the northern summer, it seems off-putting and unorthodox to have a banner of the Town Hall in winter, IMO). --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 03:48, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Three to choose from:

  • Banner 1 is Burghley House, which is listed in the article, but is further out.
  • Banner 2 is Town Bridge
  • Banner 3 is Stamford from Town Bridge

Which do you prefer? AlasdairW (talk) 22:27, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Will feature from 21 May. /Yvwv (talk) 17:52, 9 April 2023 (UTC) [reply]

I don't think it is. And yes, it's fine. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:25, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

One month till June 2023. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 01:08, 24 April 2023 (UTC) [reply]

I saw the note on DOTM but didn't look here, so I also had a go at making Brocken banners. Banners 3 and 4 show the summit mast, banner 5 is a view looking down through the trees from near the summit. These are all summer views, taken in August, September and May. AlasdairW (talk) 20:54, 1 May 2023 (UTC) [reply]

  • 5, 1, 3, 2, 4. 4 has the "panorama" fisheye appearance about it. 2 looks a little blurry to me, and could be anywhere. 3 hardly meets the blurb's description "fits in like a cake". 1 and 5 are my favorites, with 5 looking like the higher quality image overall. --Comment by Selfie City (talk) (contributions) 21:33, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not a great selection of pictures to choose from, so other contributions are welcome:
  1. is the beach on Jaco Island.
  2. is Jaco Island
  3. is Pousada de Tutuala - the guesthouse. I am not sure that this is big enough - it is 1,280 × 427 pixels.

Take your pick, or suggest alternatives. AlasdairW (talk) 14:36, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ihave loaded up a bigger version of File:Tutuala 13-16.jpg. You can try File:Beach ahead Jaco.jpg, too. --J. Patrick Fischer (talk) 19:49, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Nice. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 02:35, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Good choice. Veracious (talk) 06:23, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Looks good. Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:47, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: Though the first option definitely looks good, I do want to note that this isn't the best rolling stock to depict. The Series 6000 in the image is being taken out of use as we speak, and I do not know to what extent it will still be in service now, or when featured next month. There are however, very few images of the other rolling stock (Hermelijn or CAF Urbos) that I see working well as a banner. I did however, find an image with relevance to the article that shows a general impression: Water, coast or sea walls, rails, and the road that runs alongside most of the route. I've added it as a possible alternative banner to add a bit of choice. :)

@AlasdairW: After a few thoughts... i'm trying to make one myself. It's 3:1 ratio, right? Veracious (talk) 05:48, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • One to start with, showing Tombstone mountain. 23:07, 2 June 2023 (UTC)

Here are three more banners but from me which better represent the park's diverse landscape. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 02:34, 3 June 2023 (UTC) [reply]

Not yet scheduled, but could possibly feature for December. /Yvwv (talk) 19:08, 16 October 2022 (UTC) [reply]

I'm very late, but here are two other alternative banners. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 12:04, 18 July 2023 (UTC) [reply]

  • 2, 1. Both banners are good, but from a tourist's perspective, I'm not sure the snowmobiles are the best representation of the town. Contrary to what may be assumed, my understanding is that Longyearbyen has been designed to be attractive to tourists. --Comment by Selfie City (talk) (contributions) 21:59, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Done, but maybe "and" would be better? AlasdairW (talk) 22:14, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Either works. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:41, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • The caption is a little flat. How about:
"Quebec Route 389 is a challenging, fun road through distractingly beautiful scenery to the remote wilderness of Labrador."
Ground Zero (talk) 12:05, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I have changed to that quote. It is good not to repeat two lines from the article, as the first version did. AlasdairW (talk) 20:57, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Glasgow is scheduled for next month. Here are some banners to choose from.
    • Banner 1 show Glasgow Cathedral, with the lampposts having a design based on the city crest (Here is the bird that never flew, Here is the tree that never grew, Here is the bell that never rang and Here is the fish that never swam).
    • Banner 2 is a view towards George Square from the roof of the Lighthouse museum. The pink "People Make Glasgow" banner was put on the former College of Building and Printing for the 2014 Commonwealth Games and is still there (I checked on Friday).
    • Banner 3 is looking down river from the Riverside Museum. The former shipyard cranes on the left contrast with the modern apartment blocks on the right.
    • Banner 4 is Scotland Street School (museum). I wanted to include one building by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the best known Glasgow architect - unfortunately the famous Glasgow School of Art was severely damaged by a fire in 2018.
    • Banner 5 is St Vincent Street Free Church, and imposing building by Alexander "Greek" Thomson, another influential Glasgow architect.
Which do you prefer? AlasdairW (talk) 21:49, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Two banners to choose from for next month's OTBP, but more would be very welcome:
    • Banner 1 shows Dragør Museum.
    • Banner 2 shows Amagerbro Metro Station
Which do you prefer? AlasdairW (talk) 20:29, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • I haven't seen the film, so I am only offering one banner here, and hope that others can offer alternatives. Banner 1 shows Rainbow Bridge and Lady Liberty in Tokyo - the Rainbow Bridge is destination 7 in the article. AlasdairW (talk) 22:51, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Four more banners, although it's pretty difficult to find good ones. For example the only photo of the "House of the Blue Leaves" ie. Gonpachi restaurant in Tokyo on Commons is of terrible quality. # 2 depicts hikers in the Mojave Desert (Budd thought he had managed to bury the Bride alive, but she has broken herself free and walks back to his trailer in the desert), #3 the church in Hi Vista, California (in the movie in El Paso, Texas) where the whole story began, #4 is a Emma Jeans Holland Burger Cafe in Victorville depicting "the diner opposite to the cemetery", and #5 the temple where Pai Mei was (again, it's good weather in all the photos and the film scenes are all foggy and rainy). --Ypsilon (talk) 17:28, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • 3,5,1,2,4. Ypsilon (talk) 17:28, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • 3 or 5 most say "Kill Bill" to me. Mrkstvns (talk) 18:41, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Four to choose from for Ankara, which is scheduled for October.
Banner 1 shows the Hall of Honor at Anıtkabir. This was taken on a November night.
Banner 2 also shows the Hall of Honor at Anıtkabir. This was taken on Canakkale Victory and Martyr’s Day in the spring.
Banner 3 shows Ministry of Culture and Tourism at night.
Banner 4 shows Melike Hatun Mosque.
Alternatives would be very welcome. AlasdairW (talk) 22:11, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Gargarapalvin, Thanks, I have updated the description for Banner 3. I would be interested to hear your preference, especially if you know the area. Comments on the article on Wikivoyage:Destination of the month candidates#Ankara would also be very welcome. AlasdairW (talk) 20:57, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Banners for four upcoming articles because we need them for the Main Page... --Ypsilon (talk) 16:18, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Here's the statue of Salem's founder Roger Conant in front of the Salem Witch Museum. Ypsilon (talk)

Later this month:

  • Banner 1 shows Odakyu Erectric Railway
  • Banner 2 also shows Odakyu Erectric Railway
  • Banner 3 shows Yamanote Line train (Tokyo communter service) at Akihabara Station
  • Banner 4 shows JR East 651-0 electric multiple unit train at Katsuta Station
  • Banner 5 shows Meitetsu-3704 on Nagoya Main Line at Biwajima Junction
  • There is a big selection on commons, so there is loads more to choose from if you want to make an alternative. I avoided shikansen (bullet trains) as we have recently had these on the banner for New Golden Route. I was travelling on a train (in Scotland, not in Japan) when I created these banners!

Which do you prefer? AlasdairW (talk) 17:27, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Street scene with buildings in several architectural styles. Ypsilon (talk) 16:27, 29 September 2023 (UTC) [reply]

Landscape view! Ypsilon (talk) 16:27, 29 September 2023 (UTC) [reply]

As we're celebrating the anniversary of the first flight of the Wright brothers, why not have the memorial to that flight as banner? Ypsilon (talk) 16:27, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

While I was (belatedly) updating the main page today, I noticed there were no banner proposals for Rovaniemi, the DOTM for the next month. I don't think I will be able to propose banners in the near future, so I am leaving this note here, where it would be better visible, for others who may. Vidimian (talk) 14:25, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've uploaded four choices including two with a winter theme. Feel free to alter the blurb as you prefer, as some of you may be more familiar with the city and its tourist attractions than I am. --Comment by Selfie City (talk) (contributions) 16:24, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A few banners for Easter Island. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 02:05, 4 October 2023 (UTC) [reply]

Banners for a few features ahead. Ypsilon (talk) 17:24, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
